Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Engineer or higher to join the Buildings Structural team in Lansing, MI, with a hybrid work arrangement. You will apply structural principles to diverse building projects, coordinate with architects and clients, and help ensure high-quality documentation and field investigations.

The role requires a civil/structural engineering degree, PE license, 7+ years of experience, and proficiency with Revit and structural software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited university is required.
• 7+ years of related structural engineering (buildings/architecture) experience is required.
• PE license is required.
• Intermediate skill level in Revit with progression toward advanced level.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry concepts.
• Familiarity with structural software such as RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply knowledge of structural principles in various assignments.
• Prepare engineering calculations with software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.
• Create structural design plans and details in Revit.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
• Design and review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Analyze data, formulate solutions, and provide direction to staff.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
• Perform field investigations/site visits as needed.
