Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer to design and evaluate data center systems, identify product requirements, and contribute to research and project planning. From chip to chiller, you are responsible for designing and optimizing products within the architecture that will change and scale with Google's continued growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design principles including production, sheet metal, castings, injection molding, structural analysis, and cooling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and design products over the entire product design life cycle including requirements gathering, concept generation, detailed design with analysis, cross-functional reviews, verification testing, manufacturing release, and sustaining.
• Ensure designs are sound, scalable, robust, and meet engineering requirements backed by thorough engineering analysis and product validation through developing test plans, performing testing ensuring designs.
• Influence and shape future products by providing mechanical and product design engineering expertise into the technology roadmap with data-driven decisions.
• Identify and scope projects around innovation opportunities as well as technology risks.
• Provide engineering knowledge and mentor team members in areas of expertise.
