Biofire Technologies seeks a Senior Commodity Manager, Mechanical to architect the mechanical supply base for LRIP to full-rate production. You will own strategy across machining, molding, MIM, and metals fabrication, qualify suppliers, and formalize commercial agreements to scale procurement infrastructure from scratch.

You will stand up supplier qualification frameworks, dual-sourcing roadmaps, and MSAs within six months, while maintaining uninterrupted current production and collaborating

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes (MIM, injection molding, machining, metals fabrication).
• Experience building supplier qualification frameworks (PPAP, FAI, capacity & quality audits).
• Track record of BOM cost reduction through DFX collaboration and negotiations.
• Experience developing dual-sourcing strategies and second-source qualification.
• Skilled in negotiating MSAs and stocking agreements.
• Ability to influence cross-functionally without direct authority.
• Experience supporting hardware products from low-rate to full-rate production.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement a supplier qualification framework calibrated by commodity type.
• Drive BOM cost reductions through process conversions and competitive bidding.
• Identify single-source risks, build dual-sourcing roadmaps, and qualify second sources.
• Negotiate MSAs and stocking agreements with suppliers.
• Ensure supply continuity during ramp, translating schedules into supplier demand.
• Participate in DFX design reviews to flag manufacturability and cost risks.
• Build a mechanical supply chain roadmap aligned to product plans.
• Coach buyers on capability assessment and value-based sourcing.
