Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior mechanical engineer/ construction manager to lead design and constructability on data center projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel.

You will resolve in-progress design issues, coordinate trade partners, and develop bid packages and schedules to optimize cost and schedule, leveraging your leadership and field experience.

The base salary ranges from $134,500 to $185,000, with benefits and onsite workplace expectations for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with certified training.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and specs for construction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of design/constructability issues in drawings and specs.
• Identify schedule/cost savings opportunities from design or modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope for sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with the project schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for WBS and scope understanding.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability.
