Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer or Construction Manager for industrial data center projects with up to 50% travel. You will lead design reviews, provide constructability guidance, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams across multiple sites in the United States.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in construction management, with strong communication and project-management skills. Base onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting mechanical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership resolving design and constructability concerns in engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization.
• Identify trade partners to be involved in early contractor engagement through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with design and schedule.
• Work with internal teams to develop and review construction bid packages.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full WBS development.
• Assist with reviews of VDR submittals during design phase for constructability.
