Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Construction Manager to lead design and construction activities on data center projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel. Ideal candidate has 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction, a Bachelor's in engineering, and experience interpreting drawings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with certified technical training.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and specs for construction.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of in-progress design and constructability issues.
• Identify schedule and cost-saving opportunities from design or modularization.
• Engage early contractor involvement with trade partners.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope for sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with schedules.
• Review bid packages with internal teams for contractor award.
• Coordinate stakeholders for work breakdown structure development.
• Review VDR submittals during design phase for constructability impacts.
