Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Construction Manager to lead industrial construction efforts for data center projects across the U.S., with up to 50% travel. The role coordinates design, construction, vendor reviews and cross-discipline teams.

Onsite work is expected, with potential proximity to a Jacobs office. Qualified candidates bring 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in construction management, a Bachelor's in engineering, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with training
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings for construction purposes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of design and constructability issues in drawings and specs
• Identify schedule and cost savings from existing design or modularization
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope for sequencing
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with schedules
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor awards
• Coordinate stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability
