Job summary

CPL is seeking an experienced building systems engineer to lead diverse projects from concept through completion in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You will guide teams across architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes leadership, design integrity, and efficient project delivery, with a strong focus on mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems within complex building

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience in building systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience.
• Professional licensure.
• Special depth of expertise in mechanical Building Systems Engineering (BSE), plumbing and fire suppression desirable.
• Strong command of building systems engineering principles across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across projects, balancing scope, schedule, budget, and quality across practices.
• Develop and mentor high-performing teams and manage talent growth.
• Own client relationships, guiding sessions and acting as trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate across architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams.
• Define project strategy including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Manage financial performance: billing, invoicing, and staffing.
• Elevate quality standards with QA/QC reviews on designs and calculations.
• Contribute to business growth through proposals and client engagement.
