Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Mechanical Operations & Engineering Manager to act as the site SME for mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, steam, and hydronic systems.

The role emphasizes advanced troubleshooting, vendor oversight, and maintenance optimization within formal site processes. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure system reliability, and drive improvements in preventative maintenance programs while reporting to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or related field; 5+ years in facilities operations/maintenance for progressive roles.
• High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience in facilities operations, maintenance management, or engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams (engineering, maintenance, trades, subcontractors).
• Expert level knowledge and field experience with HVAC and mechanical systems; familiarity with energy management and RC/M programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site Mechanical Systems SME for HVAC, chilled water, steam, and hydronic systems.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Provide vendor technical oversight and review of proposals and scopes of work.
• Review and validate sequences of operation (SOO) and coordinate with BAS teams.
• Analyze maintenance practices and contribute to reliability-centered maintenance and asset management.
