Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Staffing Mechanical Specialist for power generation projects across Texas and neighboring states. You will lead mechanical design and equipment selection for power generation facilities, performing sizing calculations and developing technical specifications to ensure reliable, efficient systems.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical/thermal design, experience with power plant equipment, and knowledge of ASME/API/TEMA standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of experience in mechanical/thermal/process design within power generation.
Experience with power plant equipment, process systems, and design calculations.
Working knowledge of engineering software (Thermoflow, PIPE-FLO, Fathom, Impulse).
Familiarity with ASME/API/TEMA standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and equipment selection for power generation facilities.
Perform equipment sizing calculations and develop technical specifications.
Design and review P&IDs, PFDs, and mechanical system documentation.
Support the selection of boilers, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, tanks, blowers, heat exchangers, and related equipment.
Review vendor drawings, bids, and technical submittals.
Conduct plant site visits and gather operational data.
Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards.
