Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Center Mechanical Engineer Lead in Arlington, VA with remote options. The role leads the mechanical team across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for high‑demand data centers. Occasional travel to client sites and collaboration with cross‑functional teams are required.

Requirements include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years in data center infrastructure, and a P.E. license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in data center infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary client contact, responding promptly to inquiries and concerns.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication of needs and expectations.
• Lead the mechanical engineering team (HVAC, fire protection, plumbing) and coordinate with other disciplines to meet budget and schedule.
• Develop detailed mechanical equipment specifications (pumps, fans, AHUs) and support construction activities.
• Prepare reports for internal and external use based on findings.
