Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a mid-career Mechanical Integration Engineer to provide design, drafting and assembly support across R&D and small-volume production. This role bridges product design and manufacturing, working with engineers, procurement and machine shops to finalize drawings and define inspection plans for critical parts.

Responsibilities include DFM, process integration, tooling design, and quality control, with emphasis on manufacturability and repeatable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in CAD, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Space hardware design, integration, and test.

Responsibilities

• Design for Manufacturing (DFM): refine mechanical designs and 3D CAD for mass production.
• Process Integration: optimize assembly lines and production cells for throughput.
• Tooling & equipment: design jigs, fixtures, and tooling for new launches.
• Quality Control: establish testing protocols and analyze tolerances with PFMEA.
• Troubleshooting & optimization: root-cause analysis on equipment issues and apply Lean/Six Sigma.
