Job summary

IREN is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design for next generation data center infrastructure in Texas. You will develop cooling layouts, perform CFD analyses, and collaborate with electrical, structural, and controls teams to ensure integrated performance.

The role requires 12+ years in mechanical engineering with data center experience, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and willingness to travel 20–35%.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience with HVAC and cooling systems in data center or related infra.
• Experience delivering mechanical design deliverables suitable for construction and procurement.
• Ability to coordinate across electrical, structural, controls, and construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as internal SME for air-side cooling, CFD, and mechanical plant design for data center infra.
• Develop and maintain mechanical design deliverables including layouts, fluid schematics, CFD studies, and design basis documents.
• Support NGDC/IMDC programs by translating standards into executable designs and resolving complex issues.
• Coordinate with electrical teams to resolve interdependencies and ensure integrated performance.
• Provide technical support during design reviews, submittals, and field commissioning.
