Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company is seeking a registered Mechanical/HVAC Engineer for an in-office role in Johnstown, PA or Pittsburgh, PA. You will lead engineering design and construction administration for diverse commercial projects nationwide, collaborating with architects, clients, and a national team of Principals in Charge.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in MEP building systems, a PE license, and strong Revit experience; travel to local project sites is required with possible overnight stays.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in MEP building systems engineering and design.
• Experience with 2D/3D modeling software; Revit experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical building systems and equipment.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects; teamwork.
• Work in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead building systems engineering and design projects focused on mechanical and HVAC.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, RFIs, submittals and deadlines.
• Design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.
• Review project documents for quality and accuracy.
• Perform engineering calculations and equipment sizing/selection.
• Collaborate with staff and clients throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; conduct site observations and construction administration.
