Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Asa Mechanical HVAC Engineer with 5+ years of related experience, including pharmaceutical facility design (cGMP). The role is remote/hybrid, with a focus on leading mechanical/utilities scope from concept to startup, and guiding CAD/REVIT teams.

You’ll develop HVAC philosophies, P&IDs, and BMS concepts, support construction through reviews and RFIs, and help manage project budgets and schedules while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.
• At least 5 years of related experience, pharmaceutical facility design with cGMP manufacturing experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred.
• Knowledge of building load calculation software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, etc.).
• Experience using AutoCAD, Revit and other 3D design tools.
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop Conceptual and Basis of Design level approaches and documentation.
• Develop HVAC and plant utility systems philosophies.
• Develop Mechanical/Utility equipment and construction specifications.
• Perform temperature/humidity control/utility load calculations.
• Develop airflow diagrams, pressurization plans, and ductwork/piping plans.
• Develop P&ID’s, equipment plans, plant utility distribution plans, and system details.
• Develop BMS control philosophy, details, Sequence of Operations.
• Support construction with submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits.
• Direct CAD/REVIT Designers and use CAD/m modeling programs as needed.
• Manage mechanical/utilities scope for budgets and schedules.
• Market services to clients and maintain relationships for proposals.
