Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 for its Denver office. You will perform design, analysis, and coordination across multiple engineering disciplines to meet system requirements for diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and facilities.

The role emphasizes lead tasks on simpler scopes, development of design specifications, and direct engagement with customers from quote through testing, with travel as needed. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related scientific field.
• 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
• Good communications and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
• Position may require travel.
• Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
• US Citizen only. Dual Citizens are not allowed.

Responsibilities

• Perform design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
• Lead on less complex tasks and contribute to a design or analysis section.
• Generate complete design specifications for complex projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, logistics, finance, and program management to define system requirements.
• Establish and maintain a filing system for tracking project status.
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system specifications.
• Interface with customers from quotation to final design and test activities.
• Conduct site visits, investigations and analyze engineering problems; propose solutions.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
• Support development of technical proposals and comment on scope of work.
