Job summary

Amentum seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer 6 for the Denver office. You will lead design activities for prototype and custom equipment, glove boxes, hot cells, and remotely operated mechanisms for hazardous materials.

Require BS in engineering, 15+ years’ experience, strong communication and analytical skills, travel ability, and eligibility for a security clearance. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from a four-year college
• Minimum of 15 years of job-related experience
• U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain security clearance
• Willingness to travel
• May be required to pass and maintain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Performs a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently
• Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews
• Generate complete design specifications for the most complex projects
• May train other engineers on technical issues related to the research, design, development, testing and analysis
• Coordinate with other disciplines to define system specifications and requirements
• Establish and maintain a filing system or databases for tracking project status
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
• Direct interface with customers from quotation to final design and test activities
