Irving Oil is seeking a Senior Mechanical Field Engineer to lead field engineering support for refinery operations, maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects across our network. You will mentor engineers and coordinate with construction, operations, and project teams to deliver practical, safe solutions.

With a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and 10+ years in refining or heavy industrial environments (P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• P.Eng. designation in New Brunswick or eligible for registration.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in refining, petrochemical, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments.
• 5+ years of refinery or related process industry experience.
• Experience with capital projects, maintenance activities, equipment installations, and brownfield modifications.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API standards, and NBIC.
• Knowledge of pressure equipment repair/CRN registration requirements in Canada is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead field engineering support for refinery operations, maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects.
• Act as liaison between Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Project Execution, and Engineering teams.
• Supervise and mentor field engineering staff.
• Conduct field assessments and troubleshoot equipment issues; develop practical engineering solutions.
• Create and approve engineering work packages, designs, repairs, and technical documentation.
• Support MOC, FCN, and RFI processes; provide technical oversight during installations and commissioning.
