Job summary

Pacer Group in Georgetown, Kentucky is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Engineer for 12 months with possible extension. The role focuses on mechanical system design, field execution, and construction management for industrial projects.

You will coordinate with contractors and plant teams, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years in industrial/construction settings, and strong proficiency in AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction projects.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing or large-scale industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in design criteria development and field application.
• Ability to review drawings, shop drawings, specs, RFIs, and apply requirements in the field.
• Knowledge of OSHA and applicable building codes; OSHA 10 required.
• Ability to manage construction schedules daily/weekly/monthly.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate mechanical building system startups, testing, and commissioning.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
• Coordinate factory testing, delivery, installation, and handover.
• Supervise contractors and field construction per specs, safety, and quality.
• Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with drawings and codes.
• Coordinate schedules, daily field activities, and milestones.
• Prepare field status reports and communicate progress and risks.
• Support scheduling, quality checks, meetings, outages, and change orders.
• Coordinate RFIs and resolve technical issues among teams.
• Plan weekend work and plant shutdowns with stakeholders; support travel as needed.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and safety practices on site.
