Job summary

Tecknomic LLC in Georgetown, KY is hiring a Mechanical Field Engineer for on-site building-system startup and commissioning at a major automotive facility. You will review submittals, shop drawings, and specifications, and coordinate equipment delivery and installation on the shop floor.

Based at the construction site, you will oversee mechanical contractors, conduct ongoing inspections for code compliance, safety, and quality, and ensure schedule milestones are met.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years in industrial/commercial construction; 5+ years in mechanical design.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods; drawing review and field applications.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards and codes (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).
• OSHA 10 certification; ability to manage schedules daily, weekly, monthly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate mechanical building-system startups and commissioning activities
• Review product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, drawings and specs; respond to contractor RFIs
• Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users
• Coordinate weekend/plant-shutdown work with contractors and facilities groups
• Perform continuous inspections for compliance with specifications, quality standards, and codes
• Oversee mechanical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestones, and RFIs/Change orders

A leading automotive manufacturer is hiring a Mechanical Field Engineer for building and facilities construction in Georgetown, KY (100% onsite, local): mechanical building-system startup and commissioning, submittal and drawing review, equipment delivery/installation coordination, mechanical contractor oversight, and continuous inspections for code and specification compliance. What you’ll do

• Facilitate mechanical building-system startups and commissioning activities
• Provide subject‑matter review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings and specifications, and contractor RFIs
• Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users
• Coordinate weekend and plant‑shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, and manufacturing shops
• Conduct continuous work‑progress and mechanical‑system inspections for compliance with specifications, quality standards, and codes
• Oversee mechanical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestones, and coordination; manage RFIs and field change orders

What you need
