Job summary

Apetan Consulting LLC is seeking a Mechanical FEA Engineer to support a hardware accelerator module's mechanical team. The role focuses on static structural FEA for stiffener design, evaluating mounting, gravity, and handling loads.

You will perform vibration, sine sweep, and shock analyses for transport and operation, verify modal separation, and deliver plans, meshed models, and pass/fail reports. Collaboration with test teams and client acceptance criteria is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural FEA experience in electronics, PCBA or semiconductor packaging.
• Hands-on Ansys and/or Altair/HyperMesh experience; final toolchain is to be confirmed.
• PCB/PCBA warpage simulation experience including CTE mismatch and reflow/assembly effects at room and high temperature.
• Shock, vibration and drop analysis with modal and fatigue assessment.
• Demonstrated test correlation between models and measured results, including model refinement.
• Ability to execute defined load cases and report clearly against acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Perform static structural FEA for stiffener design iterations covering rib layout, thickness, geometry, mounting locations and materials.
• Evaluate mounting-pressure, gravity-sag and handling load cases.
• Perform random vibration, sine sweep and shock analyses for transport and operational requirements.
• Verify modal separation and assess fatigue and yield risk.
• Conduct staged warpage simulation for bare PCB, populated components and full PCBA at room and high temperature.
• Flag SMT risk using package warpage contours.
• Deliver analysis plans, meshed models, result fields, warpage contours and pass/fail reports against client acceptance criteria.
• Correlate simulations with shadow-moiré, shaker and drop test data.
