Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat’s Groton Facilities Engineering department seeks a seasoned mechanical engineer to support maintenance and troubleshooting for the historic Groton shipyard and new facilities under construction.

You will design and execute infrastructure projects, manage scopes of work, bid documents, vendor selection, funding, and purchase requisitions while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Facilities Engineering.
• 5+ years of post graduate engineering experience (Senior or above).

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for the Groton shipyard, the new facilities under construction, and local sites.
• Design and execute infrastructure construction projects.
• Engineer and develop scope of work, prepare bid documents, select vendors, secure funding, and prepare purchase requisitions.
