Job summary

The Groton Facilities Engineering department at General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for the 120+ year old shipyard, the new facilities under construction, and local sites. You will design and execute infrastructure construction projects and support Naval oversight with safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Facilities Engineering required.
• 5+ years post graduate engineering experience (Senior or above).
• Preferred: experience in facilities engineering, plant engineering, or construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for the Groton shipyard, existing facilities, and new facilities under construction.
• Engineer and develop the scope of work, prepare bid documents, vendor selection, and secure funding.
• Oversee safety and environmental compliance; in-field project management to manage budget, schedule, and documentation.
