Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks an experienced R&D S&E Mechanical Engineer to lead Environmental Control product realization within the PRT. The candidate will work with mechanical engineers, designers, analysts, materials scientists, chemists, test personnel as you complete engineering activities spanning the full product development cycle within the Nuclear Deterrence framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• MS in mechanical/aeronautical engineering preferred.
• Experience with mechanical hardware design and product realization.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs to production-ready state through iterative design-build-test cycles.
• Support qualification test and documentation efforts for Environmental Control Product designs.
• Prepare for and present at design reviews and programmatic meetings.
• Develop qualification plans and verification strategies with technical teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline

MS in mechanical/aeronautical engineering

Verbal and written communication

DOE Q-level security clearance (active or ability to obtain)
