Job summary

The Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering at BD leads a North American team of mechanical engineers within the Pharmacy Automation Hardware Engineering organization. This role drives engineering excellence, builds capability, and ensures high-quality outputs across new product development, sustaining, and compliance initiatives.

You will guide global collaboration, establish standards, and develop talent while partnering with delivery leaders to enable successful programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7 years related work experience in Mechanical Engineering roles.
• 4 years in functional leadership.
• Experience working with global teams and external development partners.
• Experience developing and launching a new product.
• Experience in DFSS methodology.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Mechanical Engineering functional authority across North America.
• Standardize and improve mechanical engineering tools, processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Drive technical rigor through architecture reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
• Ensure consistency in engineering approaches, design quality, documentation, and compliance with applicable quality management system requirements.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Assess feasibility of proposed tasks, build resource plans, and track progress.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to enable program execution.
