Job summary

Odin Dynamics is hiring multiple Senior Mechanical Engineers in Long Beach, CA to serve as Responsible Engineers for critical subsystems of our autonomous underwater vehicle platform.

Each engineer will own one focus area—Hull & Hydrodynamics, Structures & Integration, Mechanisms & Actuation, Battery Mechanical Design, or Propulsion—and guide the lifecycle from requirements and architecture through testing, production support, and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• Senior Mechanical Engineer with hands-on hardware experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one major subsystems area.
• Able to own the subsystem lifecycle from requirements to field testing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for a major mechanical subsystem.
• Develop greenfield designs from requirements to production-ready hardware.
• Create detailed CAD designs and manage cross‑discipline interfaces.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analyses with appropriate methods.
• Design for manufacturing and support field testing and vendor coordination.
• Mentor other engineers and document final designs for fabrication and testing.
