Job summary

Wabtec Corporation's Evident Inspection Technologies division in Waltham, MA is seeking a mechanical design engineer to develop ultrasound transducers and related mechanical concepts in an agile R&D setting. You will define mechanical design and manufacturing aspects, manage technical risks, ensure cost objectives, and collaborate with product management to fulfill custom requests.

Hybrid work with onsite 3 days a week is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5 years design experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical design of transducers and evaluation of acoustic performance.
• Experience with product verification and transfer to production.
• Knowledge of ultrasound test and measurement applications a plus.
• Machining and prototyping experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical products and transducers for ultrasound test equipment.
• May supervise other designers on projects.
• Define and perform mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Manage technical risks and ensure cost objectives.
• Define validation protocols and update manufacturing docs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Masters degree considered
