Job summary

Air Products seeks a Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer for its Rotoflow turbomachinery team in Bethlehem, PA or Houston, TX. You will lead design analyses, mentor engineers, and collaborate across functions to deliver high‑reliability rotating equipment and aftermarket support. Hybrid in‑office schedule with minimal travel.

Ideal candidate has 10–15 years in turbomachinery, deep FEA/rotordynamics expertise, and strong collaboration skills to drive innovation and safety in global projects.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years turbomachinery or rotating machinery design experience.
• Deep understanding of FEA, rotordynamics, bearings and seals.
• Design for manufacturability and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Detail‑oriented, analytical, and customer focused.
• Strong written/verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform turbomachinery design analyses, FEA, rotordynamics, and hand calculations.
• Develop standardized deliverables with Product Owners.
• Execute mechanical design tasks on awarded projects and product dev.
• Interface with vendors to resolve technical solutions.
• Support RCA and field commissioning activities.
• Drive cost reductions and improve competitiveness.
• Collaborate with customers for proper equipment integration.
• Select components and materials for turbomachinery.
