AES Corporation seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and engineering of thermal power generation projects. You will oversee third-party teams, review designs, and drive technical decisions across development, construction, and operation phases.

You will mentor engineers, resolve complex issues, and promote innovation while aligning with project goals and safety standards across gas turbines, HRSGs, and related systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering in power generation.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, and vendor documents.
• Experience with gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership.

Responsabilités

• Develop and review engineering for gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, fuel-gas systems, and cooling systems.
• Coordinate interfaces across civil, electrical, controls, and operations disciplines.
• Review vendor work products for compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Perform design optimization, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
• Support procurement with technical bid evaluations and FAT testing.
• Provide field engineering support and ensure compliance with approved documents and safety standards.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical evaluations of new thermal generation technologies.
