Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to rapidly design and prototype test fixtures and surrogate aircraft systems. The role involves close collaboration with electrical and software teams to create an integrated, reliable system.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in technical engineering, strong CAD (NX preferred), MATLAB, and hands-on fabrication skills. Expect travel up to 25% and security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a professional technical engineering position (non-internship).
• Proven CAD skills and ability to produce engineering drawings per industry standards.
• Strong fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms.
• Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK/SIMSCAPE.
• Experience with manufacturing including machine shops (sheet metal, CNC).
• Rapid prototyping across structures/electronics/software; 3D printing.
• Hands-on prototyping: machining, welding, soldering.

Responsibilities

• Design and build test fixtures or surrogate aircraft systems for ground test validation.
• Prototype and assist with fabrication/assembly of test systems.
• Lead efforts to define requirements and evaluate mechanical solutions.
• Work with electrical, software, and mechanical teams to form reliable systems.
• Lead design reviews, perform analyses, visit vendors, prototype hardware tests.
• Contribute to tools, templates, processes, and standards.
