Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Houston to lead mechanical design for commercial/institutional projects. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, drive design development, and ensure code compliance with project managers and other disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in mechanical systems, PE license, and strong REVIT/AutoCAD proficiency, with a commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture and project leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical system design experience in commercial or institutional buildings.
• Professional Engineer license recognized by the local licensing board (PE or P.Eng).
• Proficient with AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office and MS Project.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical engineering work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead client relations and participate in design/production meetings.
• Assume the mechanical lead on multiple projects and ensure reviews.
• Develop schematic, design development and contract documents at sites with project team.
• Coordinate workload to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor project profitability and adjust efforts with the team.
• Collaborate with project manager and regional leadership for reviews.
• Perform other duties as needed.
