Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across building projects in the United States. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, build client relations, and manage design and documentation efforts to meet schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, with 10+ years in commercial/institutional buildings and strong AutoCAD/MS Project skills. HDR values employee ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years in mechanical system design for commercial/institutional buildings.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by local board.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated leadership and project-management experience.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering firm.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work of Mechanical Engineers within a multidisciplinary team.
• Establish client relations and participate in design/production meetings.
• Lead mechanical aspects on projects.
• Participate in code-compliance reviews with agencies.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions on sites.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule.
• Monitor project finances and adjust team efforts accordingly.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and other disciplines; perform other duties as needed.
