Kingfisher Recruiting represents a client seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support heavy industrial steel operations. The role focuses on solving equipment challenges on the plant floor and guiding capital projects from concept through completion.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in mechanical engineering within steelmaking or similar heavy industries, with strong skills in equipment, hydraulics, and plant systems. Travel locally and internationally may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with steelmaking, melting equipment, furnaces or similar heavy equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment, hydraulics, material handling and plant systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, improve and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to boost uptime and efficiency.
• Support melting and steelmaking equipment, upgrades, installations and troubleshooting.
• Provide engineering support for large baghouse and environmental systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage capital and facility improvement projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Develop scopes, specifications, bid packages, cost estimates and schedules.
