Job summary

The Shaw Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform calculations, develop equipment data sheets, prepare RFQs and conduct technical bid assessments. They will generate technical clarifications by interacting with vendors to optimize design per project specs and standards.

Reports to the Team Lead - Mechanical Engineer. Requires 5–10 years in related field, Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency with PV Elite/Compress tools.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of related experience in engineering, procurement and construction environments.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Experience reviewing mechanical design calculations and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise in early design stages.
• Investigate and analyze complex mechanical design problems.
• Review calculations, drawings and specifications for standards compliance.
• Prepare data sheets, bid tabs, RFQ/RFP packages and calculations.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and vendors to track progress.
• Learn Shaw tools to support modular refinery package design.
