Job summary

The Shaw Group is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer to support the engineering and delivery of industrial projects in Tyler, TX. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle from concept through commissioning.

You will work with experienced engineers and designers, review drawings, perform calculations, and ensure designs meet codes, client specs, and safety standards while collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• Zero to two years of relevant engineering experience; internships or co-ops welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, datasheets, and technical deliverables.
• Assist with equipment selection and evaluation of mechanical systems (piping, pressure equipment, rotating equipment).
• Review drawings, vendor documents, and engineering information for accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate with process, piping, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation and controls, procurement, fabrication, construction, and project teams.
