Shaw Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 for static equipment in Tyler, Texas. The role focuses on calculations, data sheets, RFQs, and vendor interactions to optimize designs per project specs and industry standards. Reports to the Team Lead - Mechanical Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of EPC experience.
  • Experience with PV Elite and Compress software.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section VIII code and related standards.
  • Ability to provide design, analysis, and technical review for Mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise in early design and product development.
  • Investigate and analyze complex mechanical design problems.
  • Provide technical review of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collect and review all project design documents.
  • Work on multiple projects to meet schedule.
  • Team with peers to deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Communicate with project managers and stakeholders on tasks and schedules.
  • Prepare data sheets, bid tabs, RFQ/RFP packages, and calculations.
  • Learn Shaw tools to support modular refinery packaging.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer performs calculations, develops data sheets of equipment, prepares RFQ, and technical bid assessment. They generate technical clarification by interacting with vendors and suppliers to get the most optimum design according to project specifications, codes, and industry standards. They analyze technical issues and come up with cost effective design solutions to solve them.

Education:

Certification:

  • Conversant with PIP/ASME/API/ANSI/ISO Standards (Intermediate)
