Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the complete lifecycle of spacecraft subsystems. You will mentor junior engineers and work with cross-functional teams to turn concepts into flight-worthy hardware.

The role requires strong hands-on design, CAD/FEA skills, and experience with aerospace hardware. Join a fast-paced environment building satellites at our Northern California headquarters.

Qualifications

• B.S. or MS in mechanical, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 4-15+ years of mechanical design or equivalent experience.
• Strong CAD design (SolidWorks) and FEA (Femap, Ansys) skills.
• Experience with GD&T and designing for manufacturability.
• Demonstrated ability to design, evaluate, and procure complex aerospace assemblies.
• Hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment with team mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete lifecycle of spaceflight hardware subsystems.
• Develop requirements for loads, interfaces, and functionality.
• Perform mechanical design and analysis to meet launch and on-orbit needs.
• Define design best practices for future programs.
• Manage subsystem schedules and integration with the AIT team.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring additional teammates.
