Job summary

Astranis is seeking a Senior Avionics Engineer to lead hardware design for satellite systems. You will own avionics architecture, drive design trades, and work with mechanical, software, RF, and GNC teams to deliver reliable, radiation-tolerant electronics.

Responsibilities include end-to-end design from concept through qualification, ensuring manufacturability, and building robust development processes. Senior engineers collaborate across disciplines to push satellite tech forward.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in electrical/computer engineering or similar technical degree.
• 5+ years in fast-paced product design cycles.
• 5+ years of board level hardware design experience from concept to production.
• Hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop space-grade electronics for satellites.
• Lead concept to qualification cycles, including DFx and bringup.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, RF, GNC, and manufacturing engineers.
• Ensure manufacturability, on-time builds, and reliability.
• Develop schedules and keep stakeholders informed.
• Help build hardware development processes and recruit talent.
