Job summary

GITAI Inc. in Torrance, California, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across projects from early architecture through manufacturing, integration, testing, and redesign.

You’ll own system-level decisions, stay hands-on in CAD, and drive hardware development to deliver space and defense missions. The role emphasizes technical judgment, experience turning concepts into viable hardware, and collaboration with cross-functional teams while remaining flexible to evolving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience developing complex hardware.
• Strong technical judgment and track record with incomplete information.
• Deep experience taking hardware from concept through design, fabrication, assembly, test, and iteration.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design across projects from architecture to test.
• Make technical decisions under ambiguous requirements balancing performance, manufacturability, reliability, schedule, and cost.
• Stay hands-on designing hardware, supporting fabrication and assembly, running tests, diagnosing failures, and iterating.
• Lead design reviews and raise the technical bar for the team.
