Job summary

GITAI USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Los Angeles to lead mechanical design at the project level from architecture through testing. You will stay hands-on in CAD, support early fabrication, integration, and testing while making technical tradeoffs.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of hands-on mechanical experience, strong judgment, and the ability to take hardware from concept to iteration. Prior space/defense experience is valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience developing complex hardware.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to make design decisions with incomplete information.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through design, fabrication, assembly, test, and iteration.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design across projects from architecture to build and test.
• Make critical technical decisions under ambiguous requirements balancing performance and manufacturability.
• Stay hands-on in CAD, early hardware builds, integration, and testing.
• Lead design reviews and raise the technical bar for the team.
