Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III to own the design and development of electromechanical systems for demanding thermal and pressure environments. You will contribute to hardware testing, design reviews, and documentation in a fast-paced ACE environment on-site at our LA facility.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Space Resources Program teams, development of hardware solutions, and growth of technical skills in space exploration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, and/or testing.
• CAD proficiency and ability to perform engineering analysis.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and its application in design.
• Experience with thermal or structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of electromechanical systems from concept through testing.
• Contribute to design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
• Develop mechanical designs using advanced materials for thermal and pressure applications.
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis using hand calculations and software tools.
• Create technical documentation including 3-D models, drawings, and design specifications.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively within the engineering team and to stakeholders.
