Axiom Space is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, test, and implement structural and mechanical components for the first commercial space station. The role involves hands-on development and documentation at our Space Station Development Facility in Webster, TX, reporting to the Senior Manager – Structures & Mechanisms.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in aerospace or mechanical engineering, 5–8 years in related fields, SOLIDWORKS, FEA (Ansys/Nastran) and MATLAB/Simulink

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software.
• Experience with FEA (Ansys/Nastran) and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge of ASME Y-14.5 GD&T.
• Spaceflight hardware design experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Own the design, development, test, and evaluation of structural/mechanical components.
• Lead design reviews and develop requirements and criteria.
• Perform hand calculations, FEA, and create engineering drawings.
• Oversee manufacturing and assembly of hardware.
• Document progress and present findings to management and clients.
