Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in mechanisms or mechatronics for space/aircraft/robotics.
• Experience with static and dynamic analysis, fracture control, fatigue, thermal effects, materials & lubrication.
• Experience taking concepts to manufacturing with verification/validation strategies.
• Experience creating engineering drawings and GD&T to ASME Y-14.5.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, test, and evaluation of structural and mechanical components for the commercial space station systems.
• Lead engineering lifecycle activities including design reviews and documentation.
• Develop requirements and design criteria; perform preliminary analysis (free-body, hand calcs, FEA).
• Deliver high-quality models and drawings; oversee manufacturing and assembly.
• Present findings to managers, clients, and customers; maintain engineering notebooks.
