You will create 3D models, detailed drawings, and component specifications while collaborating with IPT teams to ensure producibility.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience (or 4+ with a graduate degree) and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6 years of mechanical engineering experience; or Graduate Degree with 4 years; or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with solid propulsion system design and manufacturing methods preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, PLM systems, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for solid rocket motors, propulsion systems, and associated components.
• Develop design concepts, create 3D models, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Perform trade studies and generate component specifications, procedures, and documentation.
• Collaborate with analysis, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to ensure design feasibility and producibility.
• Plan and execute design assignments within an IPT environment.
• Support production activities by resolving nonconformances and participating in process planning.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and verified.
• Assist in drawing and specification updates through configuration control processes.
• Participate in testing at environmental, qualification, and system levels.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and engineering reports.
