L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineer – Design in Huntsville, AL to lead the design of solid propulsion components and systems.

The role involves developing 3D models and detailed drawings for manufacture, conducting trade studies, and coordinating across analysis, manufacturing, and project teams. You will work on advanced propulsion systems and may travel for production support, with the possibility of obtaining a US Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Mechanical Design experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Mechanical Design experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Mechanical Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead component and system design for solid propulsion systems and related hardware.
• Develop design concepts, 3D models, and detailed drawings for manufacture.
• Conduct trade studies and prepare component specifications and procedures.
• Interact with analysis, manufacturing, project engineering, quality, and customer support groups.
• Plan and execute complex design tasks within an IPT environment.
• Support shop floor and production hardware processing at suppliers and internally.
