Job summary

Allegion in Blue Ash, OH is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a global engineering team. You will define mechanical system requirements, perform advanced analyses, and develop 3D models and documentation for manufacturing and testing.

You will collaborate across disciplines to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability, with opportunities to lead cross-functional teams and supplier reviews.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience with mechanical design from concept to production.
• 7+ years in design and integration of mechanical systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on product design.

Responsibilities

• Define mechanical system requirements and specifications to meet customer, marketing, and internal stakeholder needs.
• Utilize tools (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis & DFM/DFA) to evaluate and mitigate risks.
• Ensure designs meet system requirements through verification methods.
• Develop design documentation, 3D models/drawings, and manufacturing/test instructions; Creo experience a plus.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, and other brands to optimize cross-functional processes.
• Define design trade-offs to achieve performance, cost, and manufacturability goals.
• Coordinate development timelines and track activities to meet delivery and cost commitments.
• Provide day-to-day direction and oversight for other team members.
• Lead design reviews and supplier reviews when needed.
