Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead New Product Development for its safety and access solutions. You’ll contribute to a global team, design robust sliding door and curtainwall hardware, and drive cross-functional collaboration from concept to prototyping.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of hands-on experience with CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor/ AutoCAD), FMEA, GD&T, and DFM/DFA, with a hybrid work model and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years designing and developing mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with FMEA, RCA, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis, and DFM/ DFA.
• Experience with stamping, extrusions, casting, molding, and rapid prototyping.
• CAD modeling/drafting with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new and improved mechanical designs for Allegion’s products.
• Use FMEA, RCA, GD&T, and DFM/DFA to evaluate risks early in design.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and manufacturing/test documentation (Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD).
• Communicate project status through reports and design reviews.
• Lead cross-functional teams and supplier reviews as needed.
• Support prototypes through fabrication, testing, and iteration.
