Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a senior mechanical/packaging engineer to own ruggedized compute and communications hardware, from concept through field use. You will work with a tight team across electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and industrial design to address battlefield challenges.

You’ll design novel enclosures, cooling solutions, and PCBAs, tackling thermal management, shock, vibration, IP sealing, and EMI shielding.

Qualifications

• Design, prototype, and ship ruggedized electronics hardware.
• Design ownership in a team setting, especially enclosures or packaging.
• Strong grasp of engineering first principles.
• 7+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Hands‑on packaging electronics for harsh environments (thermal, shock, vibration, sealing, EMI).
• Tolerance stack‑up analysis and high‑volume manufacturing familiarity.
• CAD skills and GD&T‑driven drawings.
• Experience with high‑volume manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, molding, die casting).
• BS/MEng/MS/PhD in an engineering field.
• US person due to export controlled information access.

Responsibilities

• Own ruggedized compute and communications hardware from concept to field use.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality and industrial design teams.
• Work with customers to understand real battlefield challenges.
• Design enclosures, cooling solutions, and PCBAs from the ground up.
• Solve packaging problems: thermal, shock, vibration, sealing, EMI concerns.
• Apply engineering first‑principles, analysis, and testing to meet battlefield standards (MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑STD‑461).
• Build prototypes and first articles hands‑on.
• Travel to exercises and work alongside warfighters for feedback.
• Iterate designs with manufacturing to scale delivery.
