Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on electronics hardware packaging for military applications in McKinney, TX. You will design ruggedized chassis and card assemblies, collaborating across disciplines to ensure performance across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include addressing obsolescence, supplier coordination, and implementing cost-saving design improvements while working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications

• CAD tools like PTC Creo, NX or SolidWorks used for mechanical designs.
• Experience with electronic product packaging (Circuit Card Assemblies, PCB/chassis integration).
• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging solutions for ruggedized electronics hardware.
• Analyze requirements and design, analyze, and test electronics chassis and card assemblies for airborne environments.
• Collaborate across disciplines to meet performance requirements through the product lifecycle.
• Address obsolescence, oversee supplier verification, evaluate non-conformances, implement design/cost saving improvements.
