Job summary

Worley in Monrovia or Long Beach, CA, seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead project execution in the Materials Handling Engineering Group, delivering multidisciplinary design and procurement support with a focus on safety and quality.

Requirements include 8+ years in materials handling for petrochemical/mining, BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, and strong English communication; experience with reciprocating compressors and API standards is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of Materials Handling Engineering experience in Petroleum-Chemical and/or Mining Industries.
• 5 years in other Mechanical equipment or packaged equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Emphasis on reciprocating compressor experience, with working knowledge of API 617, 614, 670 and 671.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution and discipline deliverables, ensuring alignment with procedures.
• Develop innovative technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Oversee and mentor a team of engineers and support safe, efficient project outcomes.
• Interface with Project Management and customers regularly and manage budgets/schedules.
